Equality

Ok, so everyone knows about the huge Gay Marriage debate that has been going on. I've struggled to really share my heart on this matter, but then a dear friend of mine, spoke exactly what my heart has been trying to say.

"I'm all for equality, but my Jesus says that marriage is for man and woman. I love everyone, its not about hate, its about Gods truth. I'm not going to pretend that i think its okay. I love you guys, but i can't support something that the One true God says is wrong. It may cost me friends, but if you are my friends and you're gay, know that i love you. I just know what the Bible says about the life you live. But LOVE is not lacking."- Kaitlyn Smart

I really have nothing to add to this. I just needed to share what my friend said so perfectly.

  1. I totally agree- God tells us it is wrong and we should not support something that God tells us is wrong. I have trouble trying to love those people who are Gay and it really is a test of my character. I talked about this subject in the Q&A video I just did on my blog and this verse really spoke out to me-Leviticus 20:13. Thanks for posting this Alana. It is awesome to see someone else who doesn't agree with this too :)

    1. It's definitely not easy to love them (or anyone else who is blatantly taking the wrong path for that matter),but we are called to love above all else. It's just our job to judge them.

    2. So true Alana. I feel like I need God's help to show them love. God is love and He loves everyone- so we should too!! Thanks for posting this Alana!!

  2. Agreed, homosexuals are completely forbidden in the Bible and in my opinion should not be legal in any state. What is in the Bible is Law and no other matters.

  3. I'm glad to see you have a reasonable stance on this. I don't agree with homosexuality either but it's also wrong when people say they cause natural disasters. I have no political stance on this but I follow the Bible and what it says. However it doesn't give anyone license to call gay people names or mistreat them. A gay person can be acceptable to Jesus if he doesn't practice homosexuality in the same way a hetro person has to keep sex within marriage. I disagree with James on one point though. Homosexuals aren't forbidden in the Bible, the act is.

  4. This is very well said. My opinion about this is to each his own. I think everyone should have the right to be with the one they love.
