Bitter or Better?
Our lives are filled with daily choices. One of the most important ones is our reaction to people.
There is always going to be someone who tears you down. It's out choice whether we let it offend us or not.
Nothing that anyone does to you will ever compare to what you did to Jesus, there for, nothing is worth getting offended about. Just think how much happier and easier life would be if we let offences just slide right off us.
Grudges, anger,hurt.. they're painful things.. it's true, but instead of hurting the other person by holding onto all that, you're just making your heart bitter and stealing your own joy.
News flash: Junk will always happen in your life. We get to chose whether it's going to make us bitter or better.
Shalom,

Wow, what a fantastic post Alana! I truly and desperately needed to hear this today. Thanks for posting this!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear that it blessed you! God must have known that you needed this, because He's the one who put it on my heart :)

ReplyDeleteWow! I love what you mentioned about Christ!!!He loved us -- He loved ME -- so passionately ... that He chose to die for us, for you, for me... when I am the one who nailed Him there. And you are so perfectly, spot-on correct. No one has ever done to me what I did to Christ. And yet He has forgiven me and loves me. How could I help but follow His example?
ReplyDelete"To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. 'He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.' When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls."

I have to admit that my Life Management teacher is the one who presented the idea. God was the one who pulled on my heart to write about it.
