What a waste
As you probably know, my Friday night was spent in SA serving the homeless. To be honest, I had no idea what to expect before hand, but I'm so glad I went!
We were helping a group called Take it to the streets , who were borrowing a building from a group called Church under the Bridge. The way it worked was: they had a sanctuary, where the homeless were being preached to when we arrived; a big cafeteria, where all the homeless filled the tables after being preached to.We (The volunteers) served the homeless people. We individually delivered each plate to each person. After everyone ate, they had another church service. During which, we cleaned the cafeteria, and then after the service, we cleaned that room too. The night of volunteering was ended with prayer.
There was this one man that was sitting at a table close to the kitchen, all the volenteers had to walk by him, and as we did, he would get up and say "thank you for all that you're doing. Bless you for being so courteous." We would tell him to thank God. He is the reason why each of us are here.
This experience.. Made my life feel so pointless.. My day to day grind.. Such a waste. Here I am, looking in the fridge saying I have "nothing to eat" or looking in the closet saying "I have nothin to wear". Oh Lord.. Help me to make something of this meaningless life of mine. I don't want to waste what you've given me.
Love Always,

There are so many people who need to know the love of God, homeless or not. I wish I was brave enough to do something. God bless you eternally for what you're doing. Jesus loves you!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, there are lost people at any point of life.
DeleteYou should do it! I'm so glad I did. My point was to be a blessing by letting God work through me :).
your life is not meaningless. you were created with a purpose and if you follow God then you will figure out that purpose soon enough. i am so proud of you!
