The Grand Canyon

I decided that since the Grand Canyon is so amazing, I'd dedicate a post just to it :).

The Grand Canyon: This is one of those places that you can't really describe.. and pictures never do it justice. Unless you have stood on the rim.. you're mind cannot truly grasp the vastness and beauty of it.

Funny side note Mom and I are both afraid of heights . so as we walked the trail along the rim, mom was a tree hugger (hugging the trees as far away from the edge as possible), and I held Papa's hand the whole time. As long as I had his hand, I wasn't scared.

Anyways, enough words. Enjoy the pictures!

I squealed for joy when I saw this posted on the lookout tower :)

Sunset .. I wish I could have captured the true beauty...

We were standing right by this drop off..

see that little brown line in the middle of the picture? that's the river.

You can see the river at the bottom of the canyon

You see Papa? Mom and I wouldn't go out there.. It was really windy.

I apologize that there's so many pictures.. I couldn't cut it down anymore..

  1. Look at you sitting right on the edge :)

I think I know exactly where you were. My sister and I were there in 2008 for three whole days. Everywhere we walked I couldn't help but stare out at the canyon. So incredibly beautiful, and quite a thrill to stand on the edge with no safeguards

    1. Haha I was sitting next to Papa, which made me feel safe! I also didn't look down...
Mom HATED it when we got close to the edge. She was afraid we would fall.

haha not my favorite kind of thrill...
