Have you felt what I feel?

I'm not a picky reader. It doesn't bother me if it's not a complex book. I've read easy (though surprisingly deep) books like The Hunger Games, and then books that are almost as if they're riddles like The Scarlet Letter.

What I'm looking for is the connection. When you're not only wrapped up in the story, but you feel as if you're the same as the characters. Laughing when they laugh, and crying when they cry.

I just finished the 8th and last book in the Chop-Chop series. Easy reading.. but L.N. Cronk connects with her readers in a way I've never experienced before. Don't get me wrong.. I've felt the emotions going with a book before.. but not to the level that I did with these books. It has been true bliss.

So here I go, moving on to something else.. knowing in my heart that I'll never have that deep of a connection again. I will always, always love to read. Not only for the thrill.. the escape of it, but because the characters in the books somehow become part of me.

Do any of you have a favorite book/ book series?

  1. I have to say - I hate Harry Potter and The Hunger Games. I've given both a fair shot. But they just aren't books I like, at all.

But I love The Last Sin Eater. A lot. I love the Narnia books too, but not as much as The Last Sin Eater.

    1. I can respect that. It's not for everyone. I'm not a HP fan either, lol.

I could read The Last Sin Eater over and over again.
I'm betting that you would really like the Chop-Chop books, you should check them out sometime.

  3. i love reading. love love love it. and tho recently i've been into the Ender's Game series, I don't have a favorite. nor do i think i could really choose even if someone told me that my life depended on it and dangled me over a shark tank. there are just too many good books. and too many good ones that i have yet to discover.

  4. I've heard that the Enders games are good, it's on my list of books to get to someday :P.
I can understand that, I guess technically any books I would consider a favorite, would be pretty much any book I liked haha

  6. Alana, I SO agree with you about Leeann Cronk's Chop-Chop series. I "lived" with these characters so long that I felt as though they were part of my family. The emotions that Leeann brings out are deep and heart felt. But not to worry - Leeann has companion books in the works. I can't wait for them!
