The hand-written word.

Moments before getting flirted with by the guy who brought me my food at Sonic..

I don't have a way with words. I will never win an award for eloquence. Writing a book worth publishing likely isn't in my future, but I have learned how to spill my heart onto a page. I've learned the power of one word, and chosen to make my impact on peoples lives with the words I use.

As someone whose been touched by notes that people have written to me, telling me what I mean to them and whatnot, I can honestly say that that's the best gift a person could give. Material gifts are great, but there's nothing quite like a hand-written note sharing ones heart. It's priceless and special. It's my favorite gift to give, because it's easy to say what's on your heart, and it touches the person receiving more than you know.

If I have anything to say about it, hand-written notes will not become a thing of the past. I will pass on what I've learned, to my kids, so that they can bless the ones they love. Anyone with me?

  1. I 100% agree. Getting letters is one of my favorite things in the world. It's what I always asked Sam to give me for every event that required a gift. A couple of times he actually wrote me one XD

  3. amen sister :) words can be so powerful and people should never underestimate their power. especially the power of receiving a hand written note and knowing that person cares enough about you to find time to put their feelings on paper, even if all they have to say to you is that they like your smile.

    1. A month or so ago, a sweet woman from my church found be after song service (I had sung on stage that Sunday) and handed me a note. It said this "You have a voice like angel, it really blesses me.", now I've gotten compliments on my voice before, from her even, but the fact that she took the time to write it down for me.. and that I now I have something I can hold in my hand and read as much as I like.. means so so much. I carry that note in my wallet everywhere I go.

  5. I definitely agree. :) Over texts, emails, or comments, I love having hand written notes to look back on. Very sentimental.
